Premiering for solo piano, Alina Ramirez brings to stage the luscious harmonies and catchy Latin rhythms of her original jazz suite, written at the height of the pandemic.
Histories of Love and Life is a compilation of pieces in the form of the traditional musical suite, influenced by Latin American rhythms and jazz harmony.

About Alina Ramirez
A classical-trained Latin pianist who loves jazz, Alina Ramirez has been performing for more than 28 years.
As a composer she is influenced by both the Latin music tradition and the contemporary. Ramirez writes music for her band Ireson, as well as music for theatre and dance companies. In 2013, she was awarded the highest honour given by the Mexican Government, the Ohtli Medal, in recognition for her passion for disseminating Mexican culture and the arts worldwide.
Also a creative educator, Ramirez studied musical education in Lyon, France, and is passionate about sharing knowledge across genres. She also sought to expand her musical knowledge at LA SALLE College of the Arts by pursuing a degree in jazz music, graduating with honours in 2014 and a Masters Degree in Arts and Cultural Management in 2018.
In 2019, she founded the Singapore Latin American Arts and Cultural center with the aim of creating cross cultural interchange.
All patrons (except for children aged 12 and below) need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Mask-wearing is required for all indoor events. Patrons are also required to do SafeEntry check-in at the venue via the TraceTogether app or token.
