SINGAPORE’S PREMIER BAROQUE ENSEMBLE
Inspired by the richness of Baroque music and close friendships, Red Dot Baroque (RDB) was formed by a group of Singaporean musicians dedicated to using their expertise and knowledge to stage performances that truly bring out the essence and spirit of the Baroque on period instruments. Through such performances, it is hoped that canonic works by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi can be experienced in a refreshing new light, and “new” works that are relatively untapped in the wealth of Baroque repertory can be rediscovered and presented to audiences all around the world.
Since its sold-out debut in August 2018, RDB has presented another four critically-acclaimed programs in Singapore, and collaborated with fellow period instrumentalists from The Netherlands for their first international tour to Malaysia in July 2019. June 2020 would have marked the group's inaugural USA tour, which includes collaborations with the Grammy Award-winning Apollo's Fire Baroque Orchestra and appearances at the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Kennedy Center and more. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour has been postponed and will be re-announced shortly.
