Railway Records was especially created for the Singapore Bicentennial celebrations of 2019, and premiered live on March 30th 2019 at the old Bukit Timah Railways' Truss Bridge.
Railway Records spans from 1903 to 2020, with stories of 5 people whose lives have intertwined at various points, with our railway system. Sharmila Melissa Yogalingam ~ Playwright-Producer-Director
Sharmila has been producing and directing theatre since 2016, starting off with Emily of Emerald Hill in that year, Dinner with Friends in 2017 and Agnes of God in 2018.
In 2019 she also wrote 3 original plays that she produced and directed, namely Railway Records, Beach Burden Bliss and Scandal for Seniors.
In 2020, Sharmila will be producing and directing the following plays that will be specifically made into the digital format: 100 Years of Mesmerizing Musical Theatre (July), Emily of Emerald Hill (August), Roots (September), Railway Records (October), and Sounds of War (November).
Sharmila is also a Writer-Director-Producer of Television Shows, Movies, Web Series, Corporate Videos and Documentaries. In addition, she’s a Music Composer and Producer, and is the Owner-President of Arts, Music and Media production house DESERT WINE and its theatrical arm COMFORT THEATRE.
Sandeep Singh - Actor
Sandeep was in Timeless Tales, Beach Burden Bliss and Railway Records in 2019. He was also in Timeless Tales and Dastak in 2018. In 2017, he made his debut in K. Rajagopal's Lizard on the Wall.
Bipin Balakrishnan - Actor
Bipin is in 2020's digital play Pathay Nimidam. He also appeared on stage, in Dastak in 2018 and 2019, winning Best Actor in 2019.
Ahamed Ali Khan - Actor
Ali has been a familiar face in the Singapore acting scene for the last 30 years. Some of his theatre credits include Borderline by The Necessary Stage, Godse and 1915 by Agni Koothu, Scorpion Orchid by Theatreworks, The Big D and Ageless Dream by Ageless Theatre, & Scandal for Seniors and Beach Burden Bliss by Comfort Theatre.
Ali has also appeared in television shows such as Phua Chu Kang, Triple 9, Growing Up, Whispers of Dead, and Meet the MP. He has also appeared in movies such as Utter, Republic of Food, Second Chances, Common Space and Dribble like Fandi.
Pramila Krishnasamy - Actor
Pramila is a graduate of NAFA, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Acting in 2015. Since graduating she has been a busy theatre actor having been in Goddesses of Words in 2020 and 2019, Railway Records in 2019, Timeless Tales in 2018, Pathey Nimidum in both 2017 and 2016, and The Danny Crowe Show in 2015.
Aiswarya Nair - Actor
Aiswarya has been acting for the last 5 years in films, television and theatre. Her stage work includes Temple in 2020, and Dastak in both 2018 and 2019. Her other theatre credits are The Jugular Vein, Timeless Tales and Hope & Light.
On television Aiswarya has been on Kin, Lion Mums and Mata Mata.
