Join us for a beautiful evening of German art songs with the wonderful Felicia Teo Kai Xin, Jonathan Charles Tay and Alvin Tan in collaboration with pianist Benjamin Lim. 2020 has been a strange year, filled with many challenges, and we hope that this concert will bring to all, a sense of belonging and warmth. About Felicia Teo Kai Xin

Soprano Felicia Teo Kaixin is a distinguished artist with a voice of very distinctive colour. Her current season engagement includes the role of Infanta “Der Zwerg” by Zemlimsky and Tisbe “La Cenerentolla” by Rossini. She is a recipient of the 2018 Richard Wagner Stiependien, and received her Master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelor’s degree in Music from University of Wales (Singapore).
About Jonathan Charles Tay
Singapore tenor Jonathan Charles Tay has performed roles in Liu San Jie, Chi Bi, Cosi fan tutte, Stabat Mater, La Boheme, Aïda, Love and Duty–Mozart’s Il Re Pastore, and Kopi for One. Other appearances in 2018 include performances with Art Station and Opera Viva. Tay attained his Bachelor of Music at the Manhattan School of Music and his Masters of Music at Northwestern University. He was recently awarded a scholarship to the 2017 Richard Wagner Stipendienstiftung in Bayreuth, Germany.
About Alvin Tan
Alvin Tan, graduate of The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, has sung the roles of Podestain in Le Docteur Miracle, Apollo in L’egisto, Mr John Brooke in Little Women, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Le Dancairo in Carmen, Discord in Les Arts Florissants, Mandarin in Turandot, and Belcore in L'elisir d'amore. Alvin was awarded the Edwin Barlow Scholarship after winning first price in the National Association of Teachers voice competition. He was a recipient of the Shell Foundation Bursary, and an honorary award winner in NDTV International Vocal Competition in New York City. He won Best Singaporean Artist Award and Third Prize overall in the 2016 SLO-ASEAN Voice Competition.
About Benjamin Lim
Benjamin Lim studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with Sanford Margolis. He has also received training on the fortepiano with David Breitman, and harpsichord with Webb Wiggins. Lim’s previous collaborations include performances with sopranos Erin Alcorn, Janani Sridhar, conductors Dr. Miguel Felipe and Philip Highfill, Oberlin Musical Union Choir, Cleveland Opera Theater, and The Opera People. Currently based in Singapore, he coaches singers and pianists at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
