Emily of Emerald Hill, the classic Singaporean play by Stella Kon, was first staged live by Arts and Theatre company Desert Wine in 2016, with a show that travelled all over the island.
In 2020, the same version has been made into a digital production and has once again been produced and directed by Sharmila Melissa Yogalingam.

Sharmila Melissa Yogalingam ~ Producer-Director of Emily of Emerald Hill|
Sharmila has been producing and directing theatre since 2016, starting off with Emily of Emerald Hill in that year, Dinner with Friends in 2017 and Agnes of God in 2018.
In 2019 she also wrote 3 original plays that she produced and directed, namely Railway Records, Beach Burden Bliss and Scandal for Seniors.
In 2020, Sharmila will be producing and directing the following plays that will be specifically made into the digital format: 100 Years of Mesmerizing Musical Theatre (July), Emily of Emerald Hill (August), Roots (September), Railway Records (October), and Sounds of War (November).
Sharmila is also a Writer-Director-Producer of Television Shows, Movies, Web Series, Corporate Videos and Documentaries. In addition, she’s a Music Composer and Producer, and is the Owner-President of Arts, Music and Media production house DESERT WINE and its theatrical arm COMFORT THEATRE.
Laura Kee ~ Actress, playing Emily Gan in Emily of Emerald Hill
Laura Kee has been in various theatre plays, television shows and movies. Her theatrical credits with Desert Wine include playing Emily in 2016’s and 2020’s Emily of Emerald Hill.
Laura has also been in stage productions like The Wright Stuff by The Toy Factory, The Arsonists by Hot Chocolate Theatre, The Screwtape Letters by The Parables Company and The Immortal Bard by Phenix Arts.
In addition, Laura is an accomplished movie and television actress as well, having been in feature films 3688, The Durian King and The Girl in the Pinafore.
On television, she’s most recognizable for being in Kin, Tanglin, Whispers of the Dead, Zero Calling, Mata Mata, Code of Law and Point of Entry.
