Experience the amalgamation of piano concerto movements and solo works performed by prize winners of the 1st Beethoven International Piano Competition (Singapore) – Xavier Sheng and Ian Teh. Singapore’s Bösendorfer Artist Josephine Koh will conduct Joyeux Sinfonietta, in a unique orchestral setting led by The Libitum Quartet. Guest artists include pianists Christine Octaviani, Quah Jiezhi and violinist Albert Shagimardanov.

JOSEPHINE KOH is the Artistic Director of Joyeux Music International and Music Director of Joyeux Sinfonietta. As a Bösendorfer concert artist, Josephine Koh performs regularly in Europe and Asia. She conferred 'Most Distinguished Musician' by the IBLA Foundation at the 24th International Music International Music Competition; Laureate Diploma Winner at the International "Bartolomeo Cristofori" 2015 and Laureate Third Prize Winner at the "Gloria and Polyphonica" 2016.
Josephine Koh will perform the first movement of Chopin’s Concerto No. 2 in F minor at SHINE! Concerto in Perspective III. She currently serves as the Principal and Director of Josephine Koh Piano Academy and Resident Author at Wells Music Publishers.
ALBERT SHARGIMADANOV is the first violinist of The Libitum Quartet and serves as the Concertmaster in SHINE! Concerto in Perspective III. Albert began his musical education in Tashkent, Uzbekistan at the Uspensky Music School for gifted children.
He moved to Singapore and completed his academic studies before pursuing his musical studies under the renowned violin/viola professor Michael Kugel at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Belgium. From 2012, Albert studied at Conservatoruim Maastricht, Netherlands, under the guidance of Professor Robert Szreder and took chamber music with Professor Henk Guittart, the founder of Schoenberg Quartet. He graduated with a degree in violin performance and helped found the Eurasia Quartet. Currently Albert lives in Singapore and regularly performs with Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and various chamber groups. As a passionate teacher, Albert is constantly refining a deeply mindful approach to instrumental technique and student psychology.
Albert with perform the first movement of Beethoven’s ‘Kreutzer’ Sonata No. 9 with pianist Ke Jiezhi.
KE JIEZHI
KE JIEZHI is the orchestral pianist in Shine! Concerto in Perspective III. He obtained Fellowship Diplomas - FRSM, FTCL, FLCM in his youth. Over the years he has developed his repertoire and scope of musical depth performing as a soloist and in chamber settings. He has performed in numerous masterclasses with Clemens Leske, Warren Thompson, Deniz Aman Gelenbe and Michael Okser-Bulychev.
As a competent percussionist, Ke Jiezhi played with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra for over 10 years and achieved an impressive high Distinction in DipABRSM. A freelance composer and music arranger for theatreworks , Ke Jiezhi recently returned to serve as Head of the Gifted Music Programme at the Josephine Koh Piano Academy.
CHRISTINE OCTAVIANI
Indonesian-born pianist Christine Octaviani currently teaches at the Keyboard Department at Mandeville Conservatory of Music and is an Associate Professor on board of Joyeux Music International. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Masters in Music Performance from Trinity College of Music. In recent years, Christine had gained the FLCM and her research paper, ‘Understanding Beethoven: His Maladies and Creative Genius’ which led her to attain a distinction for the FRSM.
Apart from solo piano playing, Christine Octaviani also collaborates actively with vocalists and instrumentalists and has given recitals in London, Barbezieux and Singapore. She will play the 3rd movement of Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor in SHINE! Concerto in Perspective III.
THE LIBITUM QUARTET is a professional quartet which seeks to perform a range of classical and popular genres to a wide audience. Founded and led by the Shagimardanov family, who originally hail from Uzbekistan and trained in the Russian music tradition, the Libitum Quartet specialises in producing themed chamber recitals whereby they present music of the great composers -their works, stories and anecdotes. Leading the Joyeux Sinfonietta are violinists Albert Shagimardanov, Rodion Synchyshyn, violist Elena Shagimardanov and cellist Oleg Vasilevskiy.
