BASTILLE - LIVE IN SINGAPORE
Secret Sounds Asia are thrilled to present British indie pop act BASTILLE - Live in Singapore on 14 August 2017 at The Star Theatre. The word Bastille brings to mind revolution, change and the storming of the old by the spirit of the new. When London-based singer/songwriter Dan Smith called his band Bastille, he was merely thinking of his birthday, July 14, France's Bastille Day. But as one of the biggest British acts in the world right now, with hindsight Smith's choice seems an ominously apt metaphor for their dramatic impact. Formed by Smith after recruiting keyboard player Kyle Simmons, bassist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris 'Woody' Wood, the band's infectious track 'Pompeii' off their 2013 debut album 'Bad Blood' has become one of the alternative anthems of the last few years. In 2016, Bastille returned with triumphant sophomore record 'Wild World', which features spectacularly catchy singles 'Good Grief' and 'Send Them Off!'. 'Wild World' debuted straight at #1 on the UK charts and gained a spot in the top 50 of NMEs Albums of the Year. After a dazzling sold-out show at The Coliseum in 2015 and a rousing performance as part of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in 2016, Bastille is bound to set the stage ablaze yet again in their return to Singapore. See you there!

Staying an exciting course in a sea littered with also-rans, pretenders, and opportunists, Dream Theater's body of work endures with singular triumph.Originally named Majesty by Berklee College of Music students Petrucci, bassist John Myung, and drummer Mike Portnoy, the band soon expanded with the addition of keyboard player Kevin Moore and vocalist Chris Collins. Releasing an eigh--tune demo, Majesty Demo, as Majesty, the group sold 1,000 copies within six months. The departure of Collins in late 1986 left Majesty without a vocalist, and after a long period of auditioning possible replacements, the group settled on Charlie Dominici in November 1987. Changing its name, the group agreed on "Dream Theater," inspired by a now-demolished California movie theater.Following a couple of changes over the years, Dream Theater's current lineup includes John Petrucci on guitar, John Myung on bass, James LaBrie on vocals, Jordan Rudess on keyboards and continuum and Mike Mangini on drums. Dream Theater released their latest studio album, The Astonishing in January 2016 to generally favourable reviews and debuted in the top ten of nine countries and became the first Dream Theater album to reach number one on the US Billboard Rock Chart."Prog-metal heroes go all the way on an epic rock opera with The Astonishing" - Rolling Stones
