Bicentennial Tribute
- Don Pasquale

Don Pasquale gets transported and reset in modern day Singapore!

This comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti, sung in Italian with originally scripted English dialogue will take on a wholly new Singaporean interpretation, to be presented in semi-staged form.

Premised on the commedia dell’arte tradition: a young couple in love seeks to thwart the inappropriate plans of a pompous old man who desires to marry the girl himself. Our Don Pasquale will be set in the modern Singapore, complete with our beloved Singlish, as a great commemoration of all that we have achieved since then.

The opera will be sung by an international and local cast of singers who have sung these roles in opera houses in Asia and Europe and will be conducted by Joshua Kangming Tan. Stage direction by Heather Tan, Terrence Toh as Chorus master,  Sung in Italian with English and Chinese surtitles.
