A three-day programme with a special focus on sustainable urban development through the exploration and maximization of our resources, mobility and community. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, architect, city-maker, property developer, retailer, or designer you’d be wise to grab a ticket to be part of the debate on how we can better re-design our future cities.
Our talks allow delegates to forge friendships and cut to the chase with experts on subjects from entrepreneurship to community building to urbanism and design. It’s a weekend where contacts can be made, ideas nurtured and horizons expanded.
Featuring speakers from ARUP Group, AECOM, Pomeroy Studio, Accenture, AlphaBeta Singapore, XCO2, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (NUS), Food Bank Singapore, Zero Waste Singapore, Future Cities Laboratory | ETH Zurich and many more.
DAY 1 DISCUSSION – RESOURCES
The United Nations Environment Programme warns that many of the earth’s ecosystems that provide water, food, and energy are already near critical tipping points today. Join us in a frank discussion on how we can develop new business models that aim to reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and recover resources back from products at the end of their life cycle.
DAY 2 DISCUSSION – MOBILITY
Most cities are decidedly car-centric and rely on private vehicles for almost all urban trips, whether or not a car is the most efficient or convenient option. Creating safer, more sustainable cities means designing them to move people, not cars. Join us in a day of discussion on how we can rebalance the scales between the needs of the ever growing cities, and the needs of its community.
DAY 3 DISCUSSION – COMMUNITY
Citizens are at the heart of cities. Cities should be planned for people, not places. But rapid urbanisation over the past decades has focused mainly on physical planning and infrastructure developments. Addressing the challenge of putting people back into the centre of city management requires some going back to basics, back to building liveable cities by starting, naturally, with where people are at, and where they want to be. Hear from ground up leaders about what they are doing and how they are leading the revolution.
