Stereophonics - Live in Singapore

LAMC Productions is thrilled to announce that one of  Britain’s best live acts & rock icons, STEREOPHONICS, will return to Singapore, following the release of their latest album ‘Scream Above The Sounds’ on Tuesday, 8 May, 2018 at Zepp @ BigBox Singapore!

Rising from pubs to stadiums, Stereophonics’ accomplishments are near limitless. Six #1 albums. Eleven Top 10 singles, including the chart-topping ‘Dakota’. Headline sets at festivals including Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, V and the Isle of Wight. Huge headline shows at Slane Castle, Edinburgh Castle and the Cardiff Community Stadium. Tours with David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Who and U2. When recently asked what he was listening to, Bob Dylan replied, “Stereophonics.”

Twenty years after their debut Word Gets Around; Stereophonics’ tenth studio album released on October 27th via Parlophone Records follows Keep The Village Alive which went straight to #1 when it was released in 2015 and became their sixth chart-topper after Performance and Cocktails (1999), Just Enough Education To Perform (2001) You Gotta Go There To Come Back (2003), Language. Sex. Violence. Other? (2005) and Pull The Pin (2007).

Scream Above The Sounds was primarily recorded in the band’s HQ in west London with a further session at RAK Studios. Created with the help of regular collaborator Jim Lowe, it’s an album in which creative sonic touches add to the band’s emphasis on songwriting and melody.

While ‘Scream Above The Sounds’ doesn’t consciously reflect on the ‘Word Gets Around’ era, both ‘Before Anyone Knew Our Name’ and the lo-fi ‘Boy On A Bike’ suggest that looking back is the best way to move forward. Regarding the latter song, Kelly states, “That talks about when I grew up in a very small town and having that freedom of being on a bike on a white blanket of snow. That image is something I go back to, to calm myself down when it all gets a bit intense.”

Kelly Jones has got one of the damn finest voices in rock ‘n’ roll.– Clash

Now, founding members Kelly Jones (vocals/guitar) and Richard Jones (bass) are joined by the relative newcomers, Adam Zindani (guitar) and Jamie Morrison (drums), along with long-term live keyboardist Tony Kirkham. “It’s like when you think of Ronnie Wood being the new guitarist in The Stones,” laughs Kelly. “That new guy syndrome never wears off.”

There’s still no-one to touch them for rumbling rockers or perfectly-honed stadium ballads.”
– Daily Star

Stereophonics'' debut album, Word Gets Around, was released in August 1997 and instantly charted at number six in the UK, aided by the singles "Local Boy in the Photograph", "More Life in a Tramps Vest" and "A Thousand Trees", all of which failed to affect the top 20. The band reached mainstream success with the release of Performance and Cocktails (and its promotional singles "The Bartender and the Thief", "Just Looking" and "Pick a Part That's New") in 1999 and have achieved a total of ten top-ten singles as well as one number-one: 2005''s "Dakota". The band have also been praised for their live performances, which have landed them headlining slots at many of the UK and Ireland's most high-profile music festivals, including Reading and Leeds in 2000, Glastonbury in 2002, V festival in 2002, the Isle of Wight in 2004 and 2009, and Oxegen in 2010. Stereophonics will be headlining 2 massive stadiums in Wales this summer along with headlining Scotland’s biggest festival TRNSMT and Britain’s newest 50,000 capacity festival RiZe.

Each Stereophonics album attracts a new legion of young fans who are discovering them for the very first time. What’s more, it’s an audience that’s split evenly between male and female.

SQUEEZE - Live in Singapore
LAMC Productions is psyched to announce that iconic British new wave band, SQUEEZE will perform in Singapore, as part of their upcoming tour, on Friday, 4 May, 2018 at University Cultural Centre, NUS!The band are currently in the studio recording the follow up to 2015’s critically acclaimed ‘Cradle to the Grave’ which was written as a soundtrack to Danny Baker’s BBC TV sitcom ‘Cradle To Grave’ (starring Peter Kay).Yolanda, an accomplished session musician who has toured with the likes of Paul Weller, Eric Clapton and Hans Zimmer tells us “I’m so excited to be invited to play with Squeeze. The guys were a pleasure to record the new album with and I know playing the live shows will be a fantastic experience.” Steve, lead singer of Grammy award-winning electronica act Dirty Vegas, has previously supported Glenn Tilbrook on tour and has a deep personal connection with the band’s music, saying “I don't know how many musicians get the chance of a lifetime to join the very first band that they ever went to see in concert. I was fifteen went I first saw this band, now I get to be part of an incredible line up, who are not only great musicians but lovely human beings too.”“A crowd on their feet sang back new songs as though they were decades-old classics. *****” – The TimesSqueeze first formed in 1973, shortly after Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook had begun their songwriting partnership, brought together by an ad in a sweetshop window. By 1977 they had made their recording debut and enjoyed a string of hits which lasted until 1982, the maturity of their songs outliving their initial burst of chart activity on the back of New Wave. Over the years there have been solo careers and occasional separations, but the Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriting duo Chris and Glenn reunited ten years ago to relaunch Squeeze and have been touring, writing and recording together since. The band has long been a captivating live act, and this year triumphed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury with The Guardian saying they “[went] down a storm… Squeeze’s success is a pretty infectious thing” and Acoustic magazine concluding that “they don’t have the bombastic hype of headliners Coldplay, but they have the songcraft and lyrical majesty to leave the headliners in the dust which they duly did.”“Difford and Tilbrook deliver a rousing reminder of their talent for tuneful and touching glimpses of everyday life. ****” – Live review, The GuardianAs well as a vast catalogue including hits such as ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Up The Junction’ and ‘Tempted’, they also have Cradle To The Grave to draw on, their first collection of new tracks since 1998. This album marked the complete and, frankly, triumphant reintegration of the masterful songwriting axis of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, in a beautifully-observed series of fond vignettes about childhood, growing up and the absurdities of the ride through life we’re all on.The album was written as a soundtrack to Danny Baker’s BBC TV sitcom ‘Cradle To Grave’ which starred Peter Kay. The lyrics were based on his autobiography about growing up in South London in the 1970s ‘Going To Sea In A Sieve’, which Chris and Glenn could relate to from their own experiences. The current line-up will feature founder member Glenn Tilbrook, long-standing touring members Stephen Large & Simon Hanson, and the new addition of bassist Yolanda Charles and Steve Smith on percussion.
