Synopsis

Vincent Van Gogh, Stieg Larsson and Johann Sebastian Bach all have one thing in common: they were little known in their lifetimes but are revered today as celebrities of their own fields. Similarly, like buried treasures, music could go unpublished during a composer's lifetime and remain hidden for centuries till it resurfaces in the most surprising and delightful ways.

Following the successful performances of "The Brahms Violin Sonatas" and "Mozart meets Corigliano", violinist Lee Shi Mei and pianist Lim Yan are back as a duo, performing posthumously published violin and piano sonatas.

Works featured include Felix Mendelssohn's Sonata in F major (1838), Maurice Ravel's Sonata No. 1 in A minor, and Franz Schubert's Sonata in A major, D574.

“Lee Shi Mei and Lim Yan display close to perfect chemistry on Brahms”
- The Straits Times

“Her consistently singing tone was a delight, and this was maintained throughout the entire concert. Clearly she understood the phrasing of its seamless lines, and was in a close and attentive partnership with Lim, whose piano part was denser but perfectly balanced in ensemble.”
