Echo of a Millennium: Singapore

A thousand years in the making, Nidaros Cathedral Men and Boys Choir from Norway brings to audiences the angelic voices of boy trebles combined with the mature sound of the men’s group.  First appeared in 1030AD, this choir is uniquely Norwegian and yet is now a global voice for the classical choral repertoires.  From Gregorian chant to Dvořák’s Mass in D Major performed with orchestra, this concert will let audiences leave the evening with sweet memories of the heavenly music.

Norway is a country surrounded by magnificent unspoiled nature.  From the freshness of the fjords to the energies of the mountains, it is in this wonderful environment that our singers learn to bring the gentle sound of the choir to the thundering roar of the deep voices.  Trained from as young as 6 years old, our singers stay with the choir and continue to sing in the men’s group.  Our youngest singer on this tour is 10 and the oldest is 74 years young.  The boys are selected from 16 different schools and the whole choir commits to 4 rehearsals per week, in rain, shine, or snow.

A concert not to be missed.  Performed with re:Sound Collective Orchestra and four glorious soloists.  A feast for the senses and a great family time spent together.
