DRUM FENG : "UNLEASHED"
Synopsis

Witness the debut of up-and-coming Singapore percussion ensemble group, Drum Feng, as they present their first-ever concert at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.  Be prepared for a passionate and rousing night of drum and music performance as Drum Feng display their musicality and technique through well-known traditional Chinese percussion pieces like “Ox Vs Tiger” 《牛斗虎》and “A Well-Matched Fight” 《龙腾虎跃》.

Aside from classic Chinese pieces, Drum Feng will also showcase popular cross-genre self-composed originals like, “Spirit of Drums: Emergence” 《擂鼓震灵之千手观音》 and “Transcendence” 《超鼓越代》.

In the midst of all the high-octane drumming, there will also be softer works; collaborations with guest musicians featuring tasteful combination-play of drums and various other Chinese instruments.

All-in-all, be prepared for a concert of surprises as Drum Feng will be ‘unleashing’ an onslaught of originals specially-written by Co-Founder and in-house composer/arranger Glen Ng together with members of Drum Feng. Be amongst the first to watch and hear it at the concert - You DO NOT want to miss this drumming and visual spectacle!

About Drum Feng:

Officially established in 2019 as a non-profit organisation, Drum Feng is a Singapore-based percussion ensemble group that specializes in both traditional Chinese percussion music pieces and cross-genre work. Drum Feng aspires to Redefine and Reinvent Chinese Percussion to stay connectable and relevant to the modern-day 21st century audience. They continuously seek to integrate their drumming philosophy in all of their works with the hopes to educate, inspire, engage, entertain – all in all, to share their passion for drumming as a performing art in Singapore.

Recent Achievements:
In 2017, DRUM FENG participated in their first-ever music competition at the Nanyang International Music Competition under the “Non-Professional Open Category” and won the Gold Award, finishing 3rd overall.

At present in 2019, DRUM FENG is one of three representative arts groups at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre doing their part as a Chinese Arts representative and promoting Chinese Percussion as a performing art to the community in Singapore.
