LAMC Productions is proud to welcome back hard rock and progressive metal titans Dream Theater, as part of their Images, Words & Beyond 25th Anniversary Tour to Singapore on Oct 3, 2017, at Zepp @ Bigbox Singapore!
This tour will see the pioneering group celebrating the 25th anniversary of their milestone RIAA gold-certified album, "Images & Words." The spectacle will contain an unparalleled live set of "Images & Words" in its entirety, along with fan favourites from their deep, widely-acclaimed catalogue. The legion of fiercely devoted Dream Theater diehards around the world expect nothing less than a smart, fully immersive, experiential journey through otherworldly soundscapes.
"Images & Words" is the band's highest-selling album and reached No.61 on The Billboard 200 chart. Known for its excellent mix of progressive metal stylings with heartfelt vocals and thought-provoking lyrics, the album was also voted as Loudwire's Metal Madness award for best metal album of all time in 2013.
The band embarked on the first leg of the "Images, Words & Beyond 25th Anniversary Tour" by kicking things off with two sold-out nights at Rome, Italy's Auditorium Parco Della Musica.
"Combining old classics with new cuts, Dream Theater demonstrates why they've managed to stick around all these years." - Pop Matters
Dream Theater's three decades of continually redefining the parameters of hard rock and progressive heavy metal, overcoming obstacles, surpassing critical expectations, and resisting the incessant winds of industry uncertainty. Staying an exciting course in a sea littered with also-rans, pretenders, and opportunists, Dream Theater's body of work endures with singular triumph.
Originally named Majesty by Berklee College of Music students Petrucci, bassist John Myung, and drummer Mike Portnoy, the band soon expanded with the addition of keyboard player Kevin Moore and vocalist Chris Collins. Releasing an eigh--tune demo, Majesty Demo, as Majesty, the group sold 1,000 copies within six months. The departure of Collins in late 1986 left Majesty without a vocalist, and after a long period of auditioning possible replacements, the group settled on Charlie Dominici in November 1987. Changing its name, the group agreed on "Dream Theater," inspired by a now-demolished California movie theater.
Following a couple of changes over the years, Dream Theater's current lineup includes John Petrucci on guitar, John Myung on bass, James LaBrie on vocals, Jordan Rudess on keyboards and continuum and Mike Mangini on drums.
Dream Theater released their latest studio album, The Astonishing in January 2016 to generally favourable reviews and debuted in the top ten of nine countries and became the first Dream Theater album to reach number one on the US Billboard Rock Chart.
