Paramore - Live In Singapore
LAMC Productions is excited to announce that iconic Grammy-Award winning rock superstars, PARAMORE, will perform in Singapore, as part of their ‘After Laughter’ tour on Tuesday, 21 August, 2018 at Zepp @ BigBox Singapore! Paramore recently released their fifth studio album, 'AFTER LAUGHTER', which is notably the band’s first new album in more than four years and they are excited to return to Singapore!"AFTER LAUGHTER" was recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio B - Paramore’s first time recording in their own beloved hometown. This album also marks the return of original member Zac Farro back to the band.Paramore has long established themselves as international rock superstars. Their previous self-titled album "PARAMORE" made a chart topping debut atop the SoundScan/Billboard 200 upon its April 2013 release marking Paramore’s first #1 album to date - and also scoring an array of #1 debuts around the globe. “PARAMORE” showcased a string of blockbuster singles including two 2x RIAA platinum-certified hits, the top 10 “Still Into You” and the #1 smash, “Ain’t It Fun.” The latter track proved Paramore’s biggest single to date, ascending to #1 at Hot AC and Rock radio outlets nationwide, #2 at Top 40, as well as to the top 10 on Billboard’s “Hot 100” - the band’s first ever top 10 hit on the overall chart and their highest peaking song thus far. Paramore has had a truly remarkable run of RIAA certified albums and singles since coming together in Nashville in 2004, from 2005’s gold-certified debut, “ALL WE KNOW IS FALLING” and 2007’s 2x platinum-certified breakthrough, “RIOT!” (with its 3x platinum-certified hit, “Misery Business,” as well as the platinum-certified singles "crushcrushcrush" and “That’s What You Get”) to 2008’s worldwide platinum “Decode” (from Chop Shop/Atlantic's chart-topping “TWILIGHT - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK”) and 2009’s platinum-certified “brand new eyes” and its GRAMMY®-nominated smash, “The Only Exception.”Long regarded as an exhilarating live act, Paramore has spent much of the past decade-plus on the road, with highlights including sold out headline arena tours and show-stealing festival sets around the globe.Paramore was formed in 2003 in Nashville, TN. Still in junior high, music made up 100% of their extracurricular time. Until eventually, they all left for tour in the middle of a school year and thank heaven music would eventually work out for them. No one understood how a band so un-country could be from this strange little town called Nashville, nor how a bunch of kids so small could play their angst-filled songs so proudly. Much time has passed since those innocent days. Life has worn its grooves into the record that is Paramore's collective life.If you look closely, you can see that the members of Paramore all have very sexy dark circles under their eyes now... and surprisingly, haven't all quit music after years of sexism in the media, soap opera-worthy drama, and nearly 15 years inside the brutal beast that is the music industry. Paramore still reside in their beloved home of Nashville, TN, which these days looks a lot more like a construction site than a well-kept secret. They spend most their days and nights sitting on the porch together laughing or crying... reminiscing, daydreaming, or trying desperately to just stay present. This show is not one to be missed!

Frank – Sonata for Violin and Piano in A MajorAllegretto ben moderatoAllegroBen moderato: Recitativo-FantasiaAllegretto poco mosso4. M. Ravel - TziganeMiroslav Hristov – ViolinChih-Long Hu - PianoPrize-winning artists Miroslav Hristov, violin; and Chih-Long Hu, piano, have performed in prestigious venues around the world including New York’s Carnegie Hall, the International Violin Festival of Puerto Rico, and the International Interharmony Festival in Italy. As part of their East Asian tour which includes performances in Shanghai, Taipei, and Kaohsiung, the duo will present some of the most monumental and challenging works for violin and piano. The program commences with a staple of the classical literature and one of Beethoven’s earliest compositions for this medium, his Sonata for Piano and Violin, No. 1 in D Major. A signature work of the classical style, the beauty and simplicity of this sonata exudes an elegance and nobility that is uniquely Beethoven. From there, the duo looks to the East with an expressive performance of Five Melodies for Violin and Piano by the Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev. Written in 1945, the Five Melodies were championed by the legendary violinist, David Oistrakh. In regards to the Five Melodies, Oistrakh commented that, “it is music in which nothing can be omitted, not a single turn of the melody, not a single modulation. It requires the strictest attention to every detail of expression, a fine, but not over-refined execution of each individual intonation, as in the case of well-enunciated singing.”The second half of the program starts off with the thickly textured and evocative work from the Romantic period, the Violin and Piano Sonata in A Major by composer César Franck. A depiction of love and passion, Franck’s Violin Sonata was a wedding gift to the Belgian violinist, Eugène Ysaÿe.In a technically thrilling tribute to Gypsy music, the program ends with a burst of energy and emotion with Ravel’s virtuosic rhapsody, Tzigane. Depicting the unconventional style of the Eastern European Gypsy, Ravel’s Tzigane is a work that explores the widest range of sounds and colors from the violin.

Dialogues of the Carmelites
Would you die for your faith?Standing before the guillotine, eyes blinded by stare of the merciless sun, ears deafened by the cries of the crowd. They scream for your death. Your death. You take another step. Your breath, cold against the hot summer air, is quick and ragged. Fear creeps down your spine as your sisters are silenced right in front of your eyes, one by one. Their song ended abruptly by the sharp kiss of metal on flesh. Their life poured to the ground like a dark velvet river. To surrender blood and tears for something you believe in.Could you die for your faith? You lean forward. The collar fits like a lover’s soft fingers around your neck. A breath. The soft whisper of the blade as rushes to you.Silence.New Opera presents…The Dialogues of the Carmelites. Sung in English.
