Come December 2018, headbangers in Singapore will get the opportunity to experience the mighty Priest take the stage with the very loved BABYMETAL! Double the fun!“Forty-eight years and eighteen albums into Judas Priest’s career, and -- against all odds -- the Metal Gods are still in powerful form.” - LoudwireThere are few heavy metal bands that have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their 40 year career - originally formed during the early '70s in Birmingham, England, Judas Priest is responsible for some of the genre's most influential and landmark albums (1980's 'British Steel,' 1982's 'Screaming for Vengeance,' 1990's 'Painkiller,' etc.) and for decades have been one of the greatest live bands in the entire heavy metal genre including an iconic performance at Live Aid in 1985 - they also brought metal to the masses by their appearance on American Idol in 2011 - plus Judas Priest were one of the first metal bands to exclusively wear leather and studs - a look that began during this era and was eventually embraced by metal fans throughout the world! And in 2017, the band was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.In March 2018, Judas Priest also released their latest album, ‘Firepower’ (produced by Andy Sneap and Tom Allom), to rave reviews. The album sold around 49,000 copies in the United States within its first week of release, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the US.ABOUT BABYMETAL:BABYMETAL was formed in 2010. In March 2014, they took the stage at Nippon Budokan for a 2-day gig, making them the youngest female act to perform there. Their 1st studio album BABYMETAL instantly made it to the US Billboard charts. In summer of the same year, they embarked on their first world tour, performing on the main stage at UK’s prodigious festival Sonisphere Festival 2014 in front of 65,000 festival goers and supporting Lady Gaga on her ArtRave: The Artpop Ball 2014 Tour.In summer of 2015, BABYMETAL received various awards from prominent UK music magazines KERRANG! and METAL HAMMER and became the first Japanese artist to ever receive these awards. BABYMETAL also performed on the main stage at the massive Reading & Leeds. In April 2016, BABYMETAL had a simultaneous global release for their 2nd album METAL RESISTANCE. Not only did they make the charts in Japan, they also became the highest-charting Japanese band ever on UK’s Official Albums Chart, landing at no. 15th.Don’t miss this concert!

Kit Chan 25 Years On: A Time For Ev...
National Pop diva, Kit Chan celebrates 25th anniversary with brand new concert, 25 Years On: A Time For EverythingSINGAPORE, 06 September 2018 Singapore’s national pop diva, Kit Chan, celebrates 25 years as a singer with a brand new concert—25 Years On: A Time For Everything. The two-night concert is jointly organised by KKBOX and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, and will be held at the iconic Esplanade Theatre on 9th and 10th November 2018. Tickets will go on sale on 7 September 2018 (Friday), via http://www.esplanade.com/kitchan.Following a much-needed breather, Kit is psyched to reemerge with this new concert. When asked if she intends to tour with this concert, Kit, widely known for her bohemian take on life, shared that talks for other concert stops are underway and that she has a new album slated for release soon. Singapore is the first confirmed concert stop for now, and where better than her home ground to kick start this brand new concert, in conjunction with her 25th anniversary!Reprising the key role of creative director for this concert, Kit wants to celebrate not just how far she’s come, but most importantly, the current state of mind she’s arrived at. It is certainly an impossible feat to condense 25 years into a two-hour concert. Thus, Kit has meticulously designed her set list, coupled with intricate lighting works and visuals to share her story. The heart of the concert lies not in chronicling her achievements or milestones over the years, but in reviewing her life, and the experiences and people whom she encountered along the way that have led her to where she is now; that enable her to truly appreciate that in life, there is a time for everything. The 25 Years On: A Time For Everything concert also marks Kit’s return to an intimate performance venue after 7 years — she decided to forgo a bigger stage with extravagant technical and lighting effects in exchange for a venue where her performance and sound quality take centre stage. Kit effuses, “Whether as a singer or as someone in the audience, Esplanade has always been my favourite performance venue. Being able to stage a show here is rather befitting of my current relaxed state of mind and being. I really want to thank KKBOX and Esplanade for making my dream of holding the anniversary concert here possible.” Fans can expect to sing along to classic Mandarin and Cantonese hits like Worry (擔心), Heartache (心痛), If There Are Seasons《天冷就回来》, Waiting《等了又等》, Home, etc. Fans can also look forward to often unexpected covers Kit will be performing at all her solo concerts. Kalaa Utsavam - Indian Festival of ...
“Vishaal Sapuram might be quiet, but his fingers do all the talking for him.”-The HinduTexas-born music prodigy Vishaal Sapuram first encountered the chitravina at the age of six when his parents took him to an N. Ravikiran concert in Chennai. What started out as a family vacation led to two decades of mastering the rare and exquisite instrument. Young Vishaal had been so struck by the mesmerisingly rich and smooth tones of the chitravina that he resolved to become Ravikiran’s disciple despite the distance, and he hasn’t looked back since. The chitravina, an ancient 20 or 21-string lute also referred to as the gotuvadyam, resembles a veena (slide lute) without frets and sounds like a combination of the veena and a violin. Some believe that it inspired the Hawaiian slide guitar. The deep resonating sounds and melodious tones that it produces make it suited for presenting all facets of Indian music. However, the absence of frets, as well as the great control players must exercise given the way it is played (the right hand plucks while the left sustains and renders microtones using a plectrum or teflon), makes it particularly challenging to master, and only a handful of musicians around the world today play it.Today, the 28-year-old Vishaal is one of the rare few making headway with the chitravina. His achievements include inventing a new raga (musical scale) with his guru Ravikiran called vishweshwarapriya, receiving the blessings of the late Ravi Shankar, being an A-Grade artist for All India Radio, and winning awards and accolades over the years. Having started teaching at age 10, he also travels the world to give lectures, demonstrations, workshops and classes.Don’t miss this chance to catch Vishaal in action with his chitravina accompanied by R Raghul on the violin, N C Bharadwai on the mridangam and S Krishna on the ghatam. For more details about Kalaa Utsavam 2018, visit www.esplanade.com/kalaautsavam
