Postmodern Jukebox - Live in Singap...
LAMC Productions is pleased to announce the return of viral vintage pop sensations, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox to Singapore for one night only on 18 September, 2018, at Kallang Theatre! Sure, PMJ originally blew up online, with new videos added weekly that keep finding creative new ways to put creator Scott Bradlee’s trademark vintage twist on modern pop hits. But it’s onstage that the project has really come to shine, playing hundreds of shows to sold-out houses across the globe, from intimate standing-room gigs to large-scale, theatrical extravaganzas. Each time around, PMJ looks forward to bringing their unique spin on modern pop hits and retro pop stylings to new cities for the first time while revisiting favorite haunts that welcome them back with eagerly open arms. Missed them the last time around? Don’t make that mistake again - just keep an eye on [link for searching by city] to be sure you’re part of the in crowd next time around.Since Bradlee created the project in 2009, PMJ has amassed more than 925 million YouTube views and 3.2 million subscribers, chalked up more than 1.3 million likes on Facebook, performed on “Good Morning America,” topped iTunes and Billboard charts, caught the attention of NPR Music and NBC News, and played hundreds of shows to sold-out houses around the world.Imagine marrying the 21st century party vibe of Miley Cyrus or the minimalist angst of Radiohead with the crackly warmth of a vintage 78 or the plunger-muted barrelhouse howl of a forgotten Kansas City jazzman. Bradlee’s choice of material ranges from the ‘80s hard rock of Guns N’ Roses to hits as recent as 2015’s Justin Bieber plea “Sorry.” They’re rendered by a rotating cast of musicians and singers in fashions that date back to a time when Axl, Slash and Bieber’s parents had yet to be born - a time of street corner harmonies and torch singers, blues belters and golden-voiced crooners.Last year, PMJ collected 18 favorites from among the hundreds of songs that Bradlee has arranged to compile The Essentials for Concord Records. The album featured the songs that Bradlee has called “most essential to the PMJ universe,” including hits by Beyoncé, the White Stripes, Lorde, Outkast and Maroon 5 - along with the song that put the band on the map, a vaudevillian distressing of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” fronted by Robyn Adele Anderson that garnered more than a million views within a week of being posted. The pin-up styled singer returned for the album’s opener, their ‘50s doo-wop version of Miley Cyrus’ celebration of an inhibition-shedding spree, “We Can’t Stop,” which garnered more than 19.5 million views and was named one of the “9 Best Viral Cover Videos of 2015” by People magazine.PMJ has long since outgrown the cramped confines of Bradlee’s small apartment in Queens, NY, where the original videos were shot at a time when he was one of countless struggling musicians in the city, to play some of the most heralded stages in the world. The spirit, though, has remained the same - a collective of musicians dedicated to the timelessness of music, performing songs vibrantly and without a trace of irony. And the media has taken notice: Entertainment Weekly wrote, “Scott Bradlee’s group is known for retro-fying modern hit songs into viral success,” while Yahoo! Music added, “if you’ve been on YouTube in the last couple of years, then you’re familiar with the everything-new-is-old-again brilliance of the viral phenomenon known as Postmodern Jukebox.”

Chance The Rapper - Live In Singapo...
LAMC Productions is excited to announce that Grammy-Award winning Chicago Rap prodigy, CHANCE THE RAPPER, will perform in Singapore for the FIRST time on Saturday, 25 August, 2018 at ZEPP@BIGBOX Singapore! Chance the Rapper is one of the biggest breakout stars of the past few years, achieving fame and success in an unorthodox way — by avoiding the major labels that want to sign him. His 2016 mixtape, Coloring Book earned him three Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. Coloring Book became the first streaming-only album to receive a nomination for, and win, a Grammy.Fiercely independent and articulate, he’s found a way to please both the backpacker fans and a much wider audience through savvy collaborations with the likes of Lil Wayne and Kanye West. He’s also politically active, and a recent act of philanthropy, which saw him donate $1 million to Chicago public schools, even had fellow Chicagoan Michelle Obama tweeting her praise for him: “Thanks for giving back to the Chicago community, which gave us so much. You are an example of the power of arts education.”Born Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, he begin recording his first solo mixtape, 10 Day, in his senior year at Jones College Prep High School. A 14-track project that included work with a future frequent collaborator Vic Mensa, and production from Flying Lotus, it was released as a free download on mixtape website DatPiff. Chance had already come to the attention of Complex magazine, which featured him in its "10 new Chicago Rappers to watch out for" feature in February 2012, noting that “Chance has one of the more distinct flows and voices of any new artist in the game.”A hook-up with Childish Gambino for the track "They Don’t Like Me" on his Royalty mixtape in 2012 opened up another door. Gambino – aka the actor Donald Glover – invited Chance to open for him on his next tour. Chance was already recording his second mixtape, Acid Rap, the release that would really push him to the next level. Released again as a free download on April 30, 2013, it featured tracks with Twista and Gambino, and almost drowned in critical praise. Spin claimed that “Chance is a wide-eyed talent figuring out the world one deeply felt rap song at a time,” while the Chicago Tribune saw Acid Rap as “a springboard for his versatility as an MC, thinker, improviser and surrealist. Little wonder he’s being pursued by a gaggle of record-company suitors.”Coloring Book, the third free mixtape from Chance, dropped in May 2016. Again, an eclectic range of guests accompanied him — among them Kanye West, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, T-Pain and Justin Bieber. The single "No Problem" was an instant hit. The album became the first ever to chart on the Billboard 200 just from streaming, receiving 57.3 million in its first week alone. Entertainment Weekly thought it had sequencing issues, but raved about the creativity on display, concluding that Coloring Book "affirms Chance’s place as one of hip-hop’s most promising — and most uplifting — young stars.” Blending soul, gospel, hip hop and the music of Social Experiment, it was a favorite in best-of-year polls and with other artists. Mac Miller tweeted that it was “very very very very good. I like music that makes me feel things might just be alright.” The industry agreed, with Chance winning three Grammy awards in 2017.Don’t miss your opportunity to catch CHANCE THE RAPPER in Singapore for the first time!

TPCC Presents: Rachmaninoff - All-N...
Amidst the fire and bravado of his Piano Concertos and surging decadence of his Symphonies, there quietly lies what is possibly the greatest treasure of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s output: The All-Night Vigil. It is one of the greatest works written for a cappella choir and represents the pinnacle of Russian Orthodox music.Full of luxuriant beauty and thoughtful repose, the work also features authentic use of the archaic Znamenny chant and Rachmaninoff’s near-perfect “conscious counterfeits”. The notoriety of its use of oktavists and prominence of the lower voices make this a work that is rarely performed in Asia: it has never been performed in its entirety by a Singaporean choir-until nowThe Philharmonic Chamber Choir is proud to present Sergei Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil in this year of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the Russian Federation.

And I know this will be different, so I’m excited to figure out what this new normal is.” - Mike ShinodaMike Shinoda is a songwriter, performer, record producer, film composer and visual artist with a B.A. in illustration and Doctorate of Humane Letters from Art Center College of Design. He is best known as co-lead vocalist for multi-platinum Grammy-Award winning rock band, Linkin Park, which has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and commanded a massive fan following, holding the title as the most-liked band on Facebook and amassing over 5.5 billion YouTube views. Shinoda is the founding member of the group, which achieved the best-selling debut of this century with their Diamond-certified album, Hybrid Theory, selling over 10 million copies in the US alone. Collectively, they sold out stadiums around the globe and earned a multitude of accolades including 2 Grammy Awards, 5 American Music Awards, 4 MTV VMA Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards, 3 World Music Awards, and most recently, “Rock Album of the Year” at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards for their seventh studio album, One More Light. In the months since the passing of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, Shinoda has immersed himself in art as a way of processing his grief. With no agenda, Shinoda hunkered down alone in his Los Angeles home and began writing, recording, and painting. In January, he released the Post Traumatic EP consisting of three deeply personal songs – each one a powerful, stream-of-consciousness expression of unvarnished grief – accompanied by homemade visuals that Shinoda filmed, painted and edited himself. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with New York Times stating “The tracks are reverberant electronic dirges; the rhymes, heading into sung choruses, testify to bewilderment, mourning, resentment, self-pity and questions about what to do.”Following the EP release, Shinoda continued to create, and the result is the upcoming Post Traumatic, a transparent and intensely personal album that, despite its title, isn’t entirely about grief, though it does start there.Get ready for Mike Shinoda’s first tour as a solo artist!
