Secret Sounds Asia are thrilled to present British indie pop act BASTILLE - Live in Singapore on 14 August 2017 at The Star Theatre. The word Bastille brings to mind revolution, change and the storming of the old by the spirit of the new. When London-based singer/songwriter Dan Smith called his band Bastille, he was merely thinking of his birthday, July 14, France's Bastille Day. But as one of the biggest British acts in the world right now, with hindsight Smith's choice seems an ominously apt metaphor for their dramatic impact. “Boundaries” concert, Yao Xiao Yun has been continually exploring in piano in recent years, so that Singapore music lovers can have an experience of the classical piano playing on stage, with the heart to share a higher musical realm. The first half of the concert is two different style of sonata: Piano sonata No 2 by Scriabin and Piano sonata “Les Adieux” by Beethoven. One portray is the nature and regret, another is the inner monologue of emotion. The second half of the concert, Xiao Yun and her student Lin Chuan Yin will be separately presented a set of Chinese sketches, showcase the different local ethnic customs. Of course, not forgetting what she best at Chopin. Lastly, Xiao Yun will once again introduce the combination of the art work with Chinese five elements by Xiao Yun’s Father Yao Hai Cheng and Debussy’s L’isle Joyeuse playing by Xiao Yun. Before the concert, they will show the scroll painting and the latest creation of the sexagenary cycle satisfied tone which is the ancient temperament of the derivatives, it is also the combination of sound in peoples’ life as an artistic attempt to share to the audience.

The choir will be joined on stage by the kids’ philharmonic@sg Orchestra in the second half of the concert. Maestro Luiz de Godoy will conduct both the choir and orchestra. Godoy is the 2016 recipient of the Erwin Ortner Prize for Choral Music.The Vienna Boys Choir has been singing at Vienna's Imperial Chapel since 1296. In 1498, Maximilian I (HRR) moved his court to Vienna, lock, stock, and choir, thus founding the “Hofmusikkapelle” (Chapel Imperial), and the Vienna Boys Choir. Over the centuries, the Viennese Court attracted great musicians like Isaac, de Monte, Fux, Caldara, Gluck, Salieri, Mozart, and Bruckner; Joseph Haydn, Michael Haydn, and Franz Schubert were themselves choir boys. Until 1918, the boys sang exclusively for the court. In the 1920s, the choir was reestablished as a private organisation. Professor Gerald Wirth is the its Artistic Director, and its president.Today, there are 100 choristers between the ages of nine and fourteen, divided into four touring choirs. Each choir spends nine to eleven weeks of the academic year on tour. Together, the choirs give around 300 concerts each year, attended by almost half a million spectators around the world. The choir regularly tours Europe, Asia and Australia, and the Americas.The choir’s repertoire includes everything from medieval to contemporary music. Motets and lieder form the core of the touring repertoire, as do the choir’s own arrangements of Viennese music.
