Singapore Biennale 2016: An Atlas of Mirrors

Exploring shared histories and current realities within and beyond the region, Singapore Biennale 2016 is a constellation of artistic perspectives that provide unexpected ways of seeing the world and ourselves.

Titled An Atlas of Mirrors, the fifth edition of the Singapore Biennale examines the challenges of the region’s contemporary conditions, and positions Southeast Asia as the vantage point from which the world can be pictured anew. At this international contemporary art exhibition, over 60 contemporary artworks by artists across Southeast Asia, and East and South Asia will trace the migratory and intertwining relationships within the region, and reflect on shared histories and current realities with East and South Asia.

Anchored at the Singapore Art Museum, the Singapore Biennale spans 7 different locations in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct. Singapore Biennale is organised by the Singapore Art Museum, and is supported by the National Arts Council and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
