LA Comedy Live is thrilled to announce that well-known Canadian comedian, ALI HASSAN will bring his one man comedy show, ‘From Zero to Hero’, as part of the Asia International Comedy Festival to Singapore for the very first time on 8 September, 2017 at NTUC Auditorium, NTUC Centre!
Ali Hassan is a Stand-Up Comic, Actor and Chef who has performed on stages across Canada, in the U.S. and twice in the Middle East at the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival. He is known to audiences for his comedic roles in films like French Breakaway and GOON, on networks like FXX, PBS Kids, VICE, and as a mainstay on CBC Radio and Television.
“A unique perspective.” - Now Magazine
In 2012, Ali was invited to perform at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and Toronto's JFL42. In 2014, Ali performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival - a set that aired on CBC Television. He has also been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for ‘Best Breakout Artist’, and was awarded 'Comedian of The Year' by Anokhi Media in 2015. In the summer of 2016, Ali took his new solo show Muslim, Interrupted, to Scotland, to perform at the world's largest comedy festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As a father of four, Ali Hassan is well versed in dodging difficult questions. Or just making up the answers. But when his kids start to ask about religion in general and Islam in particular, Ali begins to consider his heritage. This was the idea behind Muslim Interrupted, in which, Hassan delivers a bitingly funny solo show on flunking out of Sunday school, ingesting forbidden fruits, and becoming a “cultural” Muslim. The show was a refreshingly hilarious antidote to our increasingly troubling global climate.

Ali is also the host of LAUGH OUT LOUD on CBC Radio & SiriusXM, a show with a base of over a million listeners. He was also the Lead Comedy Panelist on CBC Television's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, recording over 160 episodes between 2012 and 2014.
He is known for his improvisational abilities with audiences as well as for his charm and wit. His comedy routines tackle everything from food to culture to his introduction to parenthood – which is encapsulated in his One Man Show called FROM ZERO TO HERO.
ZERO TO HERO brings you an hour of comedy inspired by his rapid transformation from nefarious single man and party-goer to bewildered father of four, in under 5 years. Ali delivers a performance that is refreshing, honest and hilarious. Fans can also expect hilarious jokes from his iconic ‘Muslim Interrupted’ show.
